What is Beclomethasone?
Beclomethasone is an aerosol steroid that is inhaled in order to prevent asthma attacks. Other medications treat asthma attacks once they have already begun, but Beclomethasone is a preventative measure that should be taken on a regular basis in order to avoid future asthma attacks. It may take up to four weeks of taking Beclomethasone daily for symptoms to improve. Common name: beclomethasone dipropionate
How does Beclomethasone work?
Beclomethasone works by using its anti-inflammatory, immunomodulating properties to inhibit the production of pro inflammatory cytokines in the body. It is usually inhaled twice daily in order to decrease swelling and irritation in the airways, improving overall breathing. Beclomethasone effectively controls the symptoms of asthma when taken regularly as prescribed.
