What is Benzac?
Benzac is a topical gel medication made of benzoyl peroxide which is used to treat mild to moderate acne. Apply it directly to the affected areas as spot treatment, avoiding contact with any irritated or dry skin as well as eyes, lips, and mucous membranes. You may see an increase of skin peeling during the first few weeks of taking Benzac.
How does Benzac work?
Benzac works by unclogging blocked pores and killing the bacteria that causes acne. The active ingredient, benzoyl peroxide, contains acrylates copolymer beads that absorb extra oils in the skin and release glycerol, which reduces the risk of irritation. When used as instructed, it may take several weeks to start seeing your symptoms improve.
