What is Brecivon?
Brevicon is a hormonal birth control pill which contains two female sex hormones, ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone. As an oral contraceptive, Brevicon is highly effective at preventing pregnancy when it is taken exactly as directed once a day with no more than 24 hours between each dose. Brevicon is prescribed in either a 21 day pack or a 28 day pack.
How does Brecivon work?
Brevicon works as a contraceptive due to the combination of hormones, which work together to inhibit the monthly release of an egg from the ovaries, as well as cause changes to occur in the cervical mucus and endometrium. These changes make it more difficult for sperm to enter the uterus and a fertilized egg to become implanted.
