What is Dymista?
Dymista is a prescription nasal spray used to treat the nasal and eye symptoms caused by seasonal allergic rhinitis in people ages six and older. By combining active ingredients azelastine and fluticasone, Dymista helps to reduce allergy symptoms like sneezing and a stuffy or runny nose. It generally reduces symptoms within 30 to 45 minutes, with regular use achieving the best results.
How does Dymista work?
Dymista works by reducing the symptoms caused by a seasonal allergic reaction and preventing inflammation. As an antihistamine, one of Dymista’s active ingredients, azelastine, works against the naturally occurring chemical histamine to treat symptoms. The other active ingredient, fluticasone, is a corticosteroid which prevents the release of inflammation-causing substances as a reaction to allergy triggers.
